The granite peak forest alternates with canyons in Sanqingshan, bringing about a majestic peak cluster and canyon landscape made of granite. Crustal movement continuously uplifted the granite mass which, under weathering erosion, formed the peak forest. In the meantime, the middle and lower part of the massif, due to erosion cut along joints or massive rupture surface, becoming a canyon. Thus, the granite peak forest is often combined with granite canyon.
