Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, jointly constructed by Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Education and People’s Government of Jiangxi Province, is an advanced finance university with a focus on economics and management, and it also includes the harmonious development of other subjects such as law, engineering, liberal arts, science, agriculture, education, philosophy, history and arts. On February 6, 2008, Mr. Wen Jiabao, the former premier of State Council spent Spring Festival’s Eve together with teachers and students of this university and praised that: “Your university is good”.

It can be traced back to Jiangxi Provincial Commercial School founded in the autumn of 1923, and Jiangxi Finance and Economics College was founded in 1958. During the Cultural Revolution, after several times renamed and closed down, the college was held again in 1978, became the affiliated college of Ministry of Finance in 1980, renamed as Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics in 1996, changed its management system from the supervisor of Ministry of Finance to that of People’s Government of Jiangxi Province in 2000, and jointly managed by the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Education and People’s Government of Jiangxi Province in 2012.

The university is located in Nanchang. According to the university website in 2013, it owns four campuses such as Jiaoqiao Campus, Mailu campus, Fenglin Campus and Qingshan Campus with 2200 Mu covering area, 900 thousand square meters building area and 4.91 million books (including e-books). Its campus is ranked in the National Top 300 Greening Units. There are 16 schools of teaching, 4 schools of management and 1 independent school.
