Longhushan UNESCO Global Geopark of China




Longhushan UNESCO Global Geopark, located in Yingtan City, Jiangxi Province, China, covers an area of 38,000 hectares and in 2001 was honored as the first batch of National Geopark and in 2007 as a Global Geopark. Its main type of geological relic is geological and geomorphological type.

The park is composed of the Longhushan, Guifeng and Xiangshan Parks. Danxia landform of Longhushan is various, with the complete sequence of the Danxia landform from infancy, maturity to old age, especially the maturity as the main landform. The whole park shows a natural picture of limpid water and red mountain, as the typical one of Danxia landform. At the same time, because of peculiar volcanic rock landform and typical stratigraphic section, it holds very high scientific value and aesthetic value for tourism.
