On September 8-13, the 3rd Asia Pacific Geoparks Webinar was held in the global geopark of Jeju Island, South Korea, and the delegation of Sanqingshan UNESCO Global Geopark attended the opening ceremony.

The opening of the 3rd Asia Pacific Geopark Network Jeju Island seminar and the general assembly. Mr. Kyung SikWOO, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Mr. Keun-min Woo, Honorary Chairman, Mr. Ibrahim Komoo, UNESCO Global Geoparks Network expert and Mr. Nickolas Zouros, founder of European geopark network, attended the conference and delivered a speech. Through the review, all delegates fully affirmed that the earth sciences played a decisive role in promoting the conservation of geosites, geological tourism and the global initiative of the geopark. The close cooperation among the local residents, scientists, tourism workers, government agencies and other stakeholders was essential for strengthening and promoting the management for geopark, conservation of geosites, popular science education and tourism development. Therefore, in order to promote the realization of the goals of the geopark and local economic and social sustainable development, the member units were encouraged to enhance the network activities of Asia Pacific geoparks, strengthen cooperation in scientific research, vigorously promote research projects with common interest, as well as related human activities in the conference.

During the conference, the delegates of Sanqingshan UNESCO Global Geopark made a speech at site, shared and discussed park management experience, and launched the discussion with the delegates in terms of exchanges and cooperation of geopark management, conservation and commentary of geosites. Investigated the unique geological landscape of the global geopark in Jeju Island and the scientific interpretation system such as signboard, exhibition hall. In addition, the beautiful granite peak forest landform of the Sanqingshan UNESCO Global Geopark was fully demonstrated on the special booth in the conference room, attracting the attention of the participants and the majority of tourists.
