From September 16 to September 20, the 4th Asia-Pacific Geopark Network Seminar (APGN) was held in Sanin Coast Geopark in Japan. Sanqingshan UNESCO Global Geopark sent teams to attend the seminar and delivered keynote speech on conservation and protection of Sanqingshan UNESCO Global Geopark in the seminar, sharing and discussing construction, development experience and practices of geopark with representatives from other countries, further strengthening exchanges and communications with domestic and international geoparks, promoting friendship and enhancing the international reputation and influence. Besides, the team inspected the works on scientific explanation system, community involvement and science popularization and education of Sanin Coast Geopark.    

It is learned that Asia-Pacific Geopark Network (APGN) is a network organization of Global Geoparkss in Asia-Pacific region, a member of UNESCO Global Geopark Executive Bureau. As of 2014, Asia-Pacific Geopark Network has absorbed 42 geoparks in 6 countries, 31 of which are in China. The theme of this seminar was Geopark - Network Communication and Society. In the seminar, Gansu Dunhuang Geopark and Guizhou Zhijindong UNESCO Global Geopark were formally approved to join in the Global Geoparks Network by UNESCO.
