Sanqing Palace Included in the List of National Key Cultural Heritages Conservation Units

Recently, the State Council issued the Notice Regarding Review and Announcement of the 7th Batch of National Key Cultural Heritages Conservation Units and publicized the list of conservation units. Sanqingshan Ancient Building Complex successfully made its name on the list.

 Sanqingshan Ancient Building Complex was announced to be the First Batch of Municipal Cultural Heritages Conservation Units of Dexing in 1985 and was announced to be the Third Batch of Provincial Cultural Heritages Conservation Units of Jiangxi Province two years later.  Its overall layout reflects the Taoist philosophy of “learning from nature”. The sites selection for independent buildings and complex buildings also conformed to Taoism rituals and were in harmony with natural environment, representing an important example of building practice that was adaptive to natural environment based on Chinese traditional religious concept. The remaining palaces and temples, cliff inscriptions, god statues in the area are made of stone, indicating the profound Taoism culture of Sanqingshan and storing the historical information of South-China Culture flourished during Ming Dynasty.
