September 23rd to 29th, 2013, Sanqingshan UNESCO Global Geopark organized science popularization and promotion activity week. Primary school students in the geopark were organized to take part in painting and calligraphy exhibition activity themed as “My Beautiful Home—Sanqingshan” and the reading contest themed as “Conserving Resource, Protecting Environment and Jointly Build a Beautiful Sanqingshan” so that they can fully learn the importance of environment protection and increase their nostalgic feeling. Besides, students were also organized to visit Fenshui Exhibition Center where personnel was arranged to give explanation. By listening to explanation, observing fossil and watching photo and video materials regarding rock and mineral, flora and fauna in Sanqingshan UNESCO Global Geopark as well as its formation process, students obtained basic understanding of Sanqingshan.

Multiple science popularization points were set in the park to give out leaflet, knowledge handbook, and explain geo-knowledge at site and promote environment protection philosophy. Via questionnaire and tourist interaction, their preferred ways of science popularization were learnt, gathering experience for subsequent science popularization activities.
