In the evening of June 14th, the 8th Sanqingshan Forum in the theme of Conservation and Management of UNESCO Global Geoparks was held in Sanqingshan where Dr. Xu Kejian, from China University of Geosciences (Beijing), Secretary General and Deputy Director of the Tourism Science Popularization Committee of China Science Writer Association and Sanqingshan Expert was invited to give a lecture to the leaders and staff of Sanqingshan. The member of CPC Party Committee and Deputy Director of Sanqingshan Geopark Administrative Committee, Yang Jing hosted the forum.

Dr. Xu talked about the concept of geopark, the distribution of global geoparks, geoparks and culture, education, science and sustainable development, best practice and case studies from the world’s UNESCO Global Geoparks and recommendations on Sanqingshan revalidation. The lecture was so interesting that the attendants learned a lot.

Through the forum, people came to know more about UNESCO Global Geoparks and the revalidation of Sanqingshan UNESCO Global Geopark, which will help receive green card in next months.
