On June 20th, 2016, the International Intensive  Course on  Geoparks was held in Lesvos Island, Greece. During the course, global geopark experts and staff across the world were very interested in the educational materials such as books, maps, leaflets and souvenirs of Sanqingshan UNESCO Global Geopark.

The courses were held in the Lesvos GlobalGeopark of Greece. The dean of the geopark, Prof. Nicholas Zurous was the founder of the Global Geoparks Network and is the President of UNESCO Global Geoparks Council. The  one-week course which will be closed on June 30th covers  the topics on geoconservation, geotourism  and sustainable development of global geoparks.

Over 30 experts and geopark staff from more than 10 nations attended the course. Dr. Xu Kejian from  China University of Geosciences (Beijing), Secretary General and Deputy Director of the Tourism Science Popularization Committee of China Science Writer Association displayed the educational materials including books, maps, leaflets  and souvenirs toexperts and they  were very interested.

President Nicholas Zouros said that he was glad to see these materials and souvenirs which not only helped people better know about global geoparks in China but also showed people  the achievements of geopark development in China. Participants from other geoparks also expressed their appreciation to these materials which they will take back to their own geoparks.
