Granitectonic

Granite intrusion refers to the contact between granitic magma and the surrounding rock which is formed when magma ascends to intrude the sandstone and then cools down. It is characterized by a contact thermal metamorphic belt consisting in the surrounding rock, and there is a chilled contact at the edge of the rock body called “condensing edge”. This contact reflects the intrusion of the rock mass later than the formation of the surrounding rock.
