Granite


  The light grey rock here is porphyritic fine-grained granite. Granite belongs to acid magmatic rocks (SiO2 > 66%). Its main minerals are quartz, potash feldspars and acid plagioclases, and its minor minerals are biotites and hornblendes, sometimes containing a small amount of pyroxenes.
