The Memorial of the North Marching Anti-Japanese Advance Troops of the
Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army got its name in 2007, with the
Exhibition Hall of Fang Zhimin as its predecessor, which was rebuilt from the
former Huaiyu Government Building in 2005. The memorial has three floors with an
area of 282m2 and an covered area of 207.58m2, including a lobby and 6
exhibition halls.
The theme of the first exhibition hall is “The chairman of the poor”,
showing the history of the first stage from joining the revolution to
establishing the North Marching Anti-Japanese Advance Troops of the Chinese
Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army. The theme of the second exhibition hall is “I
am willing to risk my life”, showing the history of establishing the North
Marching Anti-Japanese Advance Troops of the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red
Army. The theme of the third exhibition hall is “I should stay”, showing the
history of 20-day battle in Huaiyu. The theme of the fourth exhibition hall is
“You are wrong”, showing his spirit of honest and upright. The theme of the
fifth exhibition hall is “Unafraid of death”, showing the history of the
sacrifice of Fang Zhimin after he was arrested. The theme of the sixth
exhibition hall is “Creation”, presenting the great changes of Huaiyu after the
establishment of People’s Republic of China.
