It was built in the period of Emperor Jingtai (1450-1456) of Ming Dynasty, is a granite vault-type stone gate. The width is 2.58m, thickness is 2.6m and the height is 3.42m. Built between two rocks, there is a fan-shaped plaque on the gate top, with three characters “Chong Zuo Gate” writing on it. A delicate and beloved pine named as “Chaoyun Pine” grows on the rock at the gate east. Five great big words “Gate of One-hundred-pace towards Chongxu” are incised on the right cliff north of the gate in regular script. The stroke of penmanship is forcible and vigorous. Besides there is a stone statue. Walking through this gate, there is a stone arch bridge, passing across which is the One-hundred-pace Ridge. Because the gate locating at the foot of Chongxu Peak, and just nearly one hundred paces away from Tianmen Gate, it is named as “Gate of One-hundred-pace towards Chongxu”.

The word “Chongxu” can be found in Tao-te Ching Wuqian Wen written by Laozi, “the most plentiful thing looks empty, however the effect is immense”, “and The Tao is modest but inexhaustible”. The meaning is only “empty” reflecting “have”. Only after entering the mountain gate, you can find the beauty of the artistic conception when looking back.. It has Wutian Gate nearby, Yumen Peak can be seen at a distance, distant hills and sea of clouds can be seen beyond. It is really in empty places seeing all things, indeed fairyland of esoteric.
