What is erosion?

Erosion means destruction done to the earth’s surface by running water, wind, glacier and living things on the basis of weathering. Erosion caused by running water is strong and pervasive. About 90% of the continent is under the influence of erosion due to running water. Rainfall erodes the earth’s surface, making the river bed and basin deeper and wider. Running water on the surface of the slope washes the slope to make it break. Also, running water erodes limestone, therefore a karst landform forms. Wind erosion can form Gobi and bare rock desert.
