On October 13, delegates from the 18 global geoparks, national geoparks and the Ministry of Land and Resources and experts and scholars gathered in Golmud to participate in the 2015 global geopark declaration and  re-evaluation seminar and the western region global geopark sustainable development seminar, summed up and exchanged protection construction and management experience of geopark, jointly enhanced the construction of sustainable development ability of Geopark. Sanqingshan UNESCO Global Geopark will carry out the first  re-evaluation work for the global geopark in 2016, so it specially sent the personnel to participate in the seminar to learn from the management experience of geopark.

 Chen Xiaoning, Deputy Director of Geological Environment Division of Ministry of Land and Resources, pointed out that according to the newly promulgated Global Geoparks Network Constitution, members of the UNESCO Secretariat and geological experts would join in the Executive Board of the global geoparks network responsible for evaluation work and evaluation results should be approved in the relevant meeting of the UNESCO. Therefore, the most rigorous development evaluation since the establishment of the global geoparks network will happen in 2016. Hope all the geoparks, in conjunction with the current environment and policy background, conscientiously study and deeply understand the Guide to the General Planning of the National Geopark, according to the Guide, check the shortcomings of your own one by one, carefully rectify them, and actively carry out international experience and academic exchange, promote the capability of the park. Wang Xiaolie, Director of national geopark network center, profoundly expounded the background and significance of this conference, informed the 2015 global geopark declaration and  re-evaluation situations, and made clear requirements for the unity of the geopark’s image, training of management personnel and continuous implementation of scientific research work.

 During the conference, Sanqingshan, through on-situ speech, reported to the participating experts the situation of 2016  re-evaluation of the park and listened to experts’ advice. Sanqingshan UNESCO Global Geopark listened carefully and learned new requirements of evaluation and concerns, learned from successful experience of Tianzhu Mountain UNESCO Global Geopark, Zhijindong UNESCO Global Geopark, Dunhuang UNESCO Global Geopark that newly joined and smoothly passed the  re-evaluation, in order to ensure that it would smoothly pass the  re-evaluation next year.

 The conference enhanced our understanding of the latest GGN idea, clarified the direction of the future construction and development of the park, and it had an important guiding significance for the future development of protection, management, construction work of the park.
