From April 26, 2016 to April 27, the 2016 Annual Meeting of Global Geoparks of China was held in Zhijindong UNESCO Global Geopark in Guizhou Province. Deputy Director of Administrative CommitteeSanqingshan Administrative Committee-Yang Jing led team to present.

The theme of the meeting was “Stride Toward Global Geopark’s New Era”, aiming at discussing and communicating on park management and conservation, construction and development and science popularization and education under the new situation of becoming an UNESCO Global Geopark, also studied and discussed about how to exploit the unique advantages of global geopark, focusing on brand building, and strengthening capacity for sustainable development of the scenic area. In the meeting, National Geopark Network Center summarized construction and management situation of Global Geoparks in the year 2015 and planed and deployed the major work in the year 2016. Representatives of two new entrants and some Geoparks introduced their experience.

During the meeting, Sanqingshan UNESCO Global Geopark reported the reevaluation work to the leaders of Ministry of Land, communicated with other parks on conservation and construction, media and promotion, as well as preparation work on reevaluation and etc. They attended the Uncover-Tablet and Park-Open Ceremony of Zhijindong UNESCO Global Geopark which was held during the meeting, “China Global Geoparks Exhibition Tour” and other activities.
