On August 2, Sanqingshan UNESCO Global Geopark and Canadian Stonehammer Global Geopark officially became sister parks. Both sides cooperated in terms of strengthening geopark management, geosites conservation, sustainable economic development, tourism promotion as well as science popularization and education. In the meantime, high-level communication was staged to better manage geoparks and boost development of tourism economy for both parks.

 Stonehammer Global Geopark is located in the east coast of Canada and was honored as a global geopark in 2010. As the rocks of the geopark recorded evolution progress of life and important historic geological events, they are of great scientific investigation value.
