Recently, the“2012 Global Geoparks International Intensive Training Summer School” was organized in Lesvos Island in Greece. Sanqingshan took part in the training as the only invited unit from China. In the practice course of training, Sanqingshan UNESCO Global Geopark made some presentations which were highly regarded by peers.   

Global Geoparks administrators and experts from 12 nations including China, Greece, France and Germany took part in the training whose theme was “natural heritage protection and management, sustainable development of tourism and local economy”. The training shed light upon Sanqingshan’s conservation and management work.  

During the training, Sanqingshan and Greek Lesvos Island Petrified Forest Park signed Letter of Intention on Amicable Cooperation which laid a solid foundation for international cooperation among global geoparks.
