On May 15th and 16th, Sanqingshan UNESCO Global Geopark sent personnel to attend the 2014 China Global Geoparks Annual Conference convened in Shenlongjia UNESCO Global Geopark. 28 China global geoparks, 6 standby geoparks for GGN, 17 provinces and direct-governed municipalities as well as competent land and resources department of autonomous region attended the conference.

Conference reported construction situation of China Global Geoparks in 2013, and scientifically deployed the key works of global geoparks for 2014. New GGN member Shenlongjia and Yanqing UNESCO Global Geopark introduced their basic situations in terms of geopark construction, development and management. Xingwen UNESCO Global Geopark and other 4 parks addressed at the topic “cooperation, exchange and sustainable development”.   

In the conference, Sanqingshan representatives also attended the opening ceremony of Shenlongjia UNESCO Global Geopark and “Global Geoparks Forest Development”, a tree-planting activity where trees representing Sanqingshan UNESCO Global Geopark were planted.
